About Sliding Puzzle

The Sliding Puzzle is a timeless brain teaser. The numbered tiles are scrambled, with one empty space to slide them around. Move tiles one at a time into the gap and work them back into number order from 1 to the end. Choose a 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5 board for an easy warm-up or a real challenge. Every puzzle is guaranteed solvable — can you do it in the fewest moves?

How to Play

  • Tap a tile next to the empty space to slide it there.
  • Keep sliding tiles to move them toward their correct spots.
  • Arrange all the numbers in order, left to right, top to bottom.
  • The empty space should end up in the bottom-right corner.

Tips & Tricks

  • Solve the top row first, then the left column, and work down.
  • Finish the last two tiles of a row together.
  • Start with the 3×3 board to learn the trick.
